I heard a lot more birds than I saw today - and I saw a Magnolia warbler (yay)  and 2 Blackburnian warblers while we were paddling . And did they stay still long enough to pull out the camera! No, I am too slow on the draw for many warblers. This guy , however, is a new bird for me. It's a blue headed vireo. He was interested in something in that tree and stayed a while. Fortunately I got 2  good photos of him. Love the spectacles. There was a bratty red eyed vireo in the top of a tree but I only caught a brief glimpse before he disappeared into a fully leafed maple.
Was positively enchanted by the hermit thrush song echoing through the woods at Bloomingdale Bog, an old RR track now converted to rustic path .
