If you can't beat them...

Canoe Class.

Clickychick had an appointment in the afternoon otherwise we would have been off to Edinburgh in the morning.  As it was we were away by mid afternoon and had a trouble free run up in glorious weather.  After a meal with Katkatkat we had a walk up to the Union Canal, looking for blips.

When we were there there were a few canoes on the water.  Proper canoes that is as opposed to Kayaks which are generally known as canoes.  Canoes are historically indigenous American in origin and open topped, while Kayaks are Inuit (Eskimo) in origin and covered tops.

Watching for a while (I used to teach kayaking among the many other things I have taught) out of interest I realised it was a training session and the lucky instructor had only two crews to deal with.

A pleasant end to a lovely day.
