Day 147/18. A Broad Bodied Chaser

We are lucky to have the New Forest so close to us. An evening walk into the northern part, just a few miles from us to a small pond on a dragonfly hunt.
We actually found some this evening, even though its still pretty early summer. A few Emperor dragonflies were cruising around, but impossible to capture on a perch. They I came across this Broad Bodied Chaser who obliged by posing nicely while I got my photographic act together.
Its hard to call this a macro....shot with a big 400mm lens.
