Growing old disgracefully

WE HAD IT GOOD THERE FOR A WHILE

When I left working for East Ren in 2007, the youth counselling team gave me the lovely gift of a garden token, and this is one of the things I bought.  The buds start off a deep orange, sobering to a salmon pink before fully emerging as these pure white,  double headed beauties.  

I always think of the team when these flowers appear in May.  We had it good there for a while, youth counsellors and play therapists, school based social workers, family learning workers, health improvement workers, etc.  There was a strong belief in working with the whole child, family, community.  Not much left now, I fear.  But still the bush flowers...
