Hornet

Awoke to a lovely sunny day:)  Apparently there had been sheet lightning last night but no rain, I slept through!  Had an enjoyable day, lot of time gardening this morning. Later afternoon tea at a friends, with 2 other friends, lovely cakes and so good to be able to sit in the garden without feeling cold!
A good walk this evening, met someone taking photos and chatted for awhile.  Also met a couple of friends I'd not seen recently with their 3 dogs.  Lots of insects and a few butterflies, just lovely to meander along the lane in the evening sun.
Extras taken this morning in the garden, the young sparrow was hoping to get fed I think
