Female Great Spotted Woodpecker

We left our B&B at Moffat in glorious sunshine and set off for home. We called at Askrigg Nature Reserve where we saw this Great Spotted Woodpecker. There are red squirrels in the woodland but they didn’t show themselves when we were there.

The motorway was quiet so it was an easy drive home. It was sunny most of the way back and we only met the wet weather when we got to Chester.
