3 Little Orphans

For our BBQ yesterday my brother was nice enough to bring up a tent/canopy so we could have an extra shady spot. Unbeknownst to him, he had a whole family of stowaways. When the tent was pulled out, a whole nest came out with mom and baby. Sadly, the tent must have squished mom and caused some internal injuries :( She was still alive and placed under a bush with her baby and her nest, we were all hoping she'd maybe make it if she didn't have to deal with humans. We checked the bag and found 3 more babies. We placed them with mom too and hoped for the best.
This morning I was walking the dogs around 6:30am and as I walked near the bush I heard some crying. I checked and mom and one of the babies had passed away. There was only one other baby in the nest. I took the pups in and grabbed a box and a scrap of towels to collect the baby. Moving the nest, I found a second one. And after much digging around under the bush I eventually found the third one. Poor littles. I buried mom and the baby under my new eisbar bush. I bought pedialyte and goat milk replacer for the orphans. They are likely around 8 days or so, should be opening their eyes within a week. They are eating/pooping/sleeping, so fingers crossed I can keep up with the feedings. One of the three babies has an injury - she has a gash on her right shoulder. It seems to have scabbed up pretty good and she is the best feeder of the three, but I am really hoping it doesn't effect her too badly. 
In other news, runt duck is doing well, so that at least makes me happy <3
