A Warmer Loft At Last

Well finally our loft has had its new insulation and a new floor it was previously insulated and floored but was inadaquate so when Fife council offerd free insulation we decided to go for it so the old floor was ripped up and the additional insulation was laid down and then the joiners came back in the next day to raise the floor by putting in joists running oppisite to the original ones with the second layer of insulation and then laying the floor but have noticed alread a difference when going upstairs so pleased with the loft job just a pity about the cavity wall insulation not being put in at moment as it was noticed that some pockets of blown wool insulation was between the cavitys so it has to be removed before the new insulating beads can be put in as mixing both can cause damp but hopefully will have it sorted before winter sets in
