Fibonacci in action

A nice example of Fibonacci's properties in nature - in the number of 'spirals' on a pineapple.

Food preparation time part way through to show six cut and two to go when cutting out the spiral 'eyes' on the pineapple, giving the Fibonacci number 8.

[Fibonacci numbers being 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, ...
... adding previous two terms to get next :-)]

Check out a useful animation that rotates a pineapple to see where these spirals are - my one was cut clockwise; if you cut spirals going anti-clockwise you'd get another Fibonacci number ... mathemagic!
