A Lotus Flower and a Gallinule

That's a Purple Gallinule. Both seen at Sweetwater Wetlands Park (here in Gainesville) this morning. I was hoping to get some good shots of the Osprey chicks. Sadly though, it seems that a week or so ago their nest, saturated by the heavy rains, became so heavy that it broke the dead tree it was in and the two chicks fell to their deaths. The adult Osprey have begun building another nest but it may be too late in the season for them to hatch another brood. Very sad.
