Deeds not words

I went on a theatrical walk tonight organised by the Sarah Siddons Fan Club drama group to mark the anniversary of women’s suffrage. It was excellent and involved much audience participation; we walked around Southampton shouting ‘votes for women’, to the bemusement of passers by! The photo shows Emmeline Pankhurst who came to southampton in 1911 and Lucia Foster Welch who went on to become the first female mayor of Southampton.
