In The City

A visit to the city today for appointments and lunch with my sister.  We parked near an attractive building - the Baptist church.  The foundation stone of the original church (the first Baptist Church in N.Z.) was laid in 1852 but it wasn't finished until 1854 because the builders were engaged in 'the more necessary business of building a Brewery'. The present church replaced the original and was opened in 1897.  It is listed as a Grade A Heritage Building.
