Owls and Falcons at Druimneil - backblip
Saturday 26th
Another glorious day and we spent a lovely afternoon at Druimneil House where Janet, the owner and well in her 80's, was holding her annual Open Day for Charity. The gardens were magnificent with huge bushes of Rhodies and Azaleas looking their best. Lots of Dragons and Damsels on and around the ponds, Tea and cake on the lawn and finally we were treated to a superb Falconry display, which didn't go quite to plan, probably due to the very hot conditions, however the little Falcon flew beautifully to the lure, the large Owl agreed to do what was asked of her, eventually! but the Kestrel and Long Eared Owl decided to do their own thing and disappeared off into the trees. I'm glad to say that thankfully their owner rescued them later on, and to end another perfect day there was another beautiful sunset.
