Patching

I was down in the village early today for a hair cut and I was amazed to see the carpark nearly empty. Usually it is hard to find a space but today I could take my pick. It is half term week so either they are all away on holiday or they just get up later!
The church is situated right in the centre of the village. It has been there for nearly a thousand years, added to, altered, enlarged over time. Now I see that they have replaced some of the wooden shingles on the steeple. I wonder how long it will be before they mellow to match the rest.
