Dorset Art Weeks
We visited two venues today - Moignes Court at Owermoigne where Paul's art teacher lives and Sculpture by the Lakes near Dorchester. We saw some wonderful sculptures but I really loved the wool sculpture animals which we saw at the second place by fibre artist Carla Taylor.
Moignes Court is a fascinating place anyway 13th century, lived in by the same family, the Cree family for 8 generations; it has a very alternative bohemian feel although it didn't have the best compost loo I have ever visited!! Moignes Court
By contrast the Sculpture by the Lakes was a very high end venue with a very different toilet experience!! The sculpture I have blipped greets you as you enter the courtyard. I t costs £10 to go round the lakes and sculptures which would have been fine if we had had the whole afternoon - we shall return.Sculpture by the Lakes
This evening we continued with our archaeology training - we spent a few hours learning about recording the test pits in the field at Shaftesbury . I t was fascinating but now exhausted!
