Wild Horses
Sitting here in a poacher's cabin in the middle of a forest on the edge of a lake in the Dordogne, France with only candles, a wood burner and no-one for miles is quite fantastic. Very 'back to nature'.
We have travelled today from the Ile d'Oleron across to Angoulême in far better weather than yesterday and found our shack which belongs to Kate Humble. I am typing this in a twinkling of tea lights in the eerie silence of the woods broken only by frogs croaking, hoping for clear sky to see the stars and maybe photograph the Milky Way. We shall see. Doing this on my iPhone.
A wild horse running over the wetlands this morning just ran across my camera nthe consequence of 2 swans having a territorial fight and he was spooked.
It all feels quite strange here. Sooooo very quiet!
