Whoosh!

We're still waiting for the new road surface to be put on our street following the scraping-off of the old top layer on Thursday.

However the scrapers are still busy on other nearby streets - I caught this one in action this morning. The scraping waggon has a chute which "squirts" the scrapings into a truck behind it with some force; I was impressed with the way the truck driver was able to reverse his truck at just the right speed to keep up with the scraper waggon (there'd be a bit of a mess if he didn't!). I noticed that the chute automatically waves a little from side to side, no doubt to even out the lie of the debris in the receiving truck. All clever stuff.
