Dag van de Kriek (sour cherry beer day)

Tarek, Ruben and I (Leander had something else to do) went to ‘in de verzekering tegen de grote dorst’ (translates as ‘in the insurance against the grand thirst’) in Eizeringen for the ‘dag van de kriek’. On this day (every 2 years) you can taste some selections of cherry beers. Knowing all the cherry beers you could taste, I selected the Nectarine Lambiek from The Cam, which was very nice, if a bit much for me alone. Ruben stayed with the cherry beers and Tarek drank ‘iets van’t putteke’ (cannot be translated properly) after his cherry tasting.
Before we went there we made a quick stop at 3 fonteinen for our stock of beers (cherry and cherry with honey).
This evening there’s a party for one of our neighbors, who turns 40 this year, so busy (drinking) day...
