Woodland pleasures.

Here is a good patch of Beech Fern ( Phegopteris connectilis ) in the woodland on the side of Arnside Knott.

This fern is found more often in Wales, Scotland and the North of England. In the South it is rather rare.

It does not grow under Beech trees. Very little does.
