Foxgloves

A few years ago we sowed white foxgloves and they've self-seeded ever since, coming up wherever they seem to like it. Of course, the genes of the more common, and more vigorous, purple/pink ones have gradually crept in and now we get about two thirds white ones and the rest shades of pink. We thought about removing the obviously pink ones before the flowers open, but that probably wouldn't entirely work to eradicate them, and in any case, they're pretty enough to be worth keeping. We'll have to sow more seed of the white variety to keep them going, as the ones that are left seem to be losing the markings inside the flowers, which are such a part of their charm.
