This is one of the cacti that I have found in the gutter. It's clearly thanking me for saving his and his friends lives. There a little bug enjoying the beauty too.

I've been a bit better. Eaten a bit of rice and tried to drink more. Fever rose during the afternoon. But I haven't slept today at all, so I've been so much better even if I feel so sick. Haven't really accomplished anything but complain about neighbor's renovation. It seems that they have changed the location of their kitchen at least.

They also will build a conservatory at the back, which we'd also like, but they are illegal. The gap between the house rows is so narrow that the regulations say that there has to be room for air to move. If people build conservatories it will be hot as hell during the summer months. So two things will happen.
A) They get fined for it year after year
B) They get fined and they have to take it down

The older generation in Spain does not understand that times have changed and you need to get permission from the City Hall. They assume that they can still do whatever they want. We have been waiting for our solarium permission now for a year. And still waiting. So it will be interesting to see if it benefits to do things the rights way or not. One big construction site near us have been closed for few months because of some lack of paperwork. That would have never happened in the old days.

When we were still looking for a house here, I think about 100% of all the older houses we saw were illegal. One would find themselves in terrible mess trying to get them legal. If the house here isn't legal, you will not get water nor electricity to the house if it's cut for some reason. even if the reason is misunderstanding. You would only have them as long as the old owner transfers the contract to new owners name and as long as anything would interfere. I'm so glad we decided on a new house. Sure, we've had our share of problems, but nothing major really. So far. Knock on wood.
