Red River Gum

A ‘rest’ day in Alice Springs, spent getting organised for the next Outback adventure, which starts on Thursday.

I had to go into the local camping store to buy a thermal sleeping bag liner. I should never be let loose inside a camping store with a credit card in hand. Enough said!

The Red River gums, or eucalypts, grow to be magnificent trees. This one is growing through a building on one of the town’s main streets. I was intrigued by the texture and patterning on the trunk.
