A flying visit
"Since you ask me for a tale for blip ......."
Cathy and I have been to Swindon this evening to see John Finmemore and the rest of the Souvenir Programme cast in what he has called "John Finnemore's Flying Visit". It is a relatively short series of dates around the country ending in Edinburgh (I think), arranged at fairly short notice.
Those of you that have come across the brilliant BBC Radio 4 comedy "Cabin Pressure", or John's Souvenir Programme will know what to expect from John and team. He did some new material as well as many of our favourite sketches (Pirates without lips, Winnie the Pooh's addiction intervention, Pachelbel's Canon and the Design department during the Creation discussing whether snakes should have legs (amongst other things). We even had an unexpected interview with Arthur Shappy and a game of hunt the lemon.
The evening was every bit as clever and funny as his radio shows. He was joined by his regular supporting cast: Margaret Cabourn-Smith, Simon Kane, Lawry Lewin and Carrie Quinlan who are so talented.
All in all an evening out to treasure.
