One step at a time
Some people take their dogs for an early morning walk, but I take my red shoes.
Although they don’t have the urge to stop at trees and sniffy corners, they do like to tarry amongst the buttercups and daisies as they march over Bruntsfield Links where there is no need to avoid the pitch and putters so early in the day.
Then it was into town to collect a purchase from Zara in George street, a shop that His Lordship is happy to enter as it is filled with fashionable eye catching apparel, whereas with Primark, it is a case of ‘you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink’. He refuses to go through the doors.
And so with the sun appearing and a new frock coat to my name, nature and retail therapy has been good for the soul. Now all that is required is to take the coat sleeves up an inch - my family has been endowed with short arms amongst other things. This fiddly bit of sewing I can do sitting in the sunshine which makes it almost enjoyable.
