Subberthwaite Common

We are one of four couples; orienteers from the South East who have moved to the Lake District in the last year. We  call ourselves the Escapees and tonight we had dinner at one the escapees farmhouse, which was very close to this evenings orienteering on Subberthwaite Common. The orienteering started at about 6pm, it was boiling hot and this is a shot taken on my way round,. It shows the bottom of Coniston Water and the Old Man of Coniston range in the distance. Our hosts tonight moved from Crawley and commented  that they do not miss the Gatwick flight path.
