Shift Change

Alongside the puffins and gannets, the shags (scarfs or scarfies, to give them their proper Shetland name) are often overlooked - but I think they are lovely birds.  This pair were in mid-shift-change when I spotted them in one of the little geos on Scat Ness - lots of squawking and beak tapping was required before the change over was completed.
