Home grown
As promised yesterday this is the Purple hairstreak that came from the larva I found on 11.5.18.
The Purple hairstreak Neozephyrus quercus, is by no means uncommon around where I live in West Sussex, but as it usually spends most of it;s life at the top of oak trees it is rarely seen, so to actually be able to look at one up close is a rare honor.
On another note I spent the day at the South of England show in Ardingly with Mr U&L and Charlii, it was great fun but I am really tired now! I have added a couple of shots of some amazing cacti, a beautiful Fox hound and some super adorable piglets in my extras.
