Puddleduck

I took it easy today as more stormy weather was forecast. It arrived of a sudden from the north west. Heavy rain and booming thunder higher up the pass.

Amazing how quickly the clayey soil puddles up making the onions look like a paddy field. Then when it dries out it forms a crust that quickly cracks.

The tomatoes and squash plants already looked like the gods were using them for celestial target practice with leaves torn and shoots broken. But not a slug in sight. (They’d need gondolas anyway in this capricious weather.)
