Headed north today leaving the beauty of the lakes behind, to break what would have been a 5+ hour trip, we booked into Strathcylde Country Park.
Its popular with campers looking for one night to break the trip as its advertised as being "just off the motorway"....the reviews included " Motorway can be heard in some parts of the site".   A more accurate description would be "at times feels like camping on the central reservation". Nevertheless it is perfect for tonight's stop.
The park/lake is a 5 minute walk and comes with its own fair ground and Friday night disco - what more could anyone wish for??.
