Mount Pond: Flashy Blue-tailed Damselfly

More crisp and contrasty in large.
Extras:
Rufescens female from above [= Alternative]
Backlit male
Sidelit female

I (unusually) took the flash to the pond today: I wanted to get a decent macro of a dragonfly, but none were about so I photographed the damselflies. Only one species about (blue-tailed damselflies) but the females are very variable in colouration (inc. rufescens, infuscans, and typica/androchrome), so they still made for varied subjects. I couldn't find a violacea female... The flash made for rather different wildlife macros...
Also found a couple of long-jawed orb weavers (AKA stretch spiders).

Others here (or right from here).
