Chester.

A good sleep in a very nice hotel and we woke up, got ready for the day and went to Pret for breakfast. A message from the struggling artist revealed that after the opening night, together with friends from the same course, she had celebrated hard and was suffering the results. RF had found a walk for us to complete around the canal tow paths and old industrial buildings of Manchester.

Lunch was back in the same restaurant and then we visited daughter to say goodbye, she was still getting over the night before!

A short drive and we arrived in Chester to visit a city neither of us had previously seen.

Lots of walking around looking at timbered buildings from medieval times then we went to the cathedral where the pictured sculpture is on display in a lovely garden outside the cloisters.

After tea we walked the city walls, the most complete in the UK, and saw lovely sights of the city and River Dee and places we would not have experienced otherwise, like the Roman Colosseum and where Cromwell breached the city walls.
