Royal Tyrrel Museum

An early start gave us bison, coyote, beaver and elk.
Then a long drive through the vast flat plains to the amazing Royal Tyrrel Museum. This houses one of the greatest dinosaur fossil collections, nearly all collected nearby in Alberta. Some great replicas, but mostly beautifully mounted original fossils. We were delighted with the display about the Burgess Shale as we will be visiting later in the holiday, see extra.
Then on to our camp at the Dinosaur Provincial Park. This is at the bottom of a deep canyon or Coulee, which suddenly drops from the flat plains.
We parked next to some kind Canadians who lent us wine glasses!
