Birds at Leighton Moss. Silverdale.Lancashire.

Paul and me got out our binoculars, cameras and sunglasses and drove up the motorway to RSPB Leighton Moss.
The collage shows some of the birds we saw.
From top left to right, Little Egret, Cormorant, Reed Warblers, 
next row, left to right Mute Swan, robin, and Mallard ducks.
There were many well maintained paths between the bird watching hides, which had clean wooden benches and charts for bird identification.
The flora and fauna is dominated by the reed beds, but I noticed several dragonflies and small tortoiseshell butterflies.
The main wild flower was the yellow flag, and clover, and Meadowsweet.
The café and facilities there are superb, and we enjoyed our panini snack watching the garden birds on the feeders.
