RESTING PEACOCK

A full day!
The sky happened to be grey in the early morning. Mischa and I, we had planned a cycle tour for today. And the weather looked good for our plan.
So when she came to our place, we decided to cycle to the Staelduinse Forest, near Hoek of Holland and walk there a 3,5 km path.
We started with the nice path high up the dunes along the sea.
Passed Monster and s Gravesande till we reached the Niewe Waterweg in Hoek of Holland. There we saw lots of swans in the big canal.
And the enourmous boats of the Stena lina.
We did not go further on the Pier, but visited a city farm nearby. There I took some photos. One of the peacock and another one that I show in the extras.
Then we cycled inland, and reached the forest. A nice walk between the trees. Since we had left the sun had appeared and shone rather intense.
The forest is famous for the bats, who live in the pillboxes which were constructed there. Of course we could not see a bat in the bright daylight. Neither did we see the fox, or the owls.
Then our trip back started from there, and with the strong wind we had to struggle all the way back.
But eventuely we reached home again. And after tea Mischa baked a delicious cake, Piet Hein made us a pizza, and I watched silly images in the galleries, again I had a great time with looking and commenting.
