Sunday
Lots of excitement about getting a ride in Nana's car.
Mason and M had a film to go to, J revising for exam, so I took the little 2 out for the afternoon. They directed me to a newly opened playpark. Really well set out with so many different pieces of non-standard equipment: a real boat, a sink and wet play area complete with a pump for water, a teepee 'tent', a small climbing teepee. Lots to spark imaginary play.
On to the Hoswick cafe - a regular stopping off place for a snack or ice cream. Then to the beach. I discovered Rio is a fellow collector of sea glass, so there was quite a competition to see who could find the best piece.
The path over a wooden bridge and out along the grassy cliff top was inviting, so off we went, until tired legs and hunger pangs made us decide we'd gone far enough.
