A self sown seedling of Phyteuma sieberi caught my eye in the first of the sunshine today. Seems I wasn't alone.
Phyteuma are relatives of campanula, the bellflowers. The tubular flowers split in the middle to let insects in. There are a number of similar species, some of which will be adding their colour to the palette in the alpine meadows - and other places - right now.
A bit of sorting, a bit of cooking, a bit of gardening. Pretty good day all round.
