Book club Camp day 3
Another odd day of showers and sun and wind. Not boating weather. Walk on the beach....caught in a downpour....D found a beautiful piece of driftwood for a “viking boat” for her husband that died in November,. Decorated it (blip) in the studio and will set it off with candle at dusk..if its not pouring or blowing too hard. Will add it to the extra if I get a picture after the sun goes down. (don't expect a sunset.).
Edit: well who would have believed there would be a sunset...extra.. but also a wind pushing the boat back to shore..and some more rain....but all in all a beautiful night for our memories of a beautiful man.
Wonderful brunch (spinach and mushrooms in brandy cheese sauce,)…they were so cold I had to build a fire…and all were happy and hot,..and book discussion. ….as is our tradition for camp. we try to read a book by an African American Author to remember our friend V, who LOVED coming to camp and died many years ago, way too soon. “Born a Crime” by Trevor Noah the comedian who grew up “colored” (white father, black mother) and “illegal” in South Africa. and a few of us also read “small great things” by Jodi Picault about white privilege. Problems we do not know how to solve and sometimes don’t know how much we share, but we all have stories to tell.
I’m so lucky ..another good dinner is being prepared, not by me… I apologize for lack of comments…will get back on tract next week… tomorrow there will be time for them to help launch the Grey float….maybe ! :-) before they have to leave.
