Kürtöskalács (chimney cake)

So the Christmas market stalls are slowly starting to appear. The Budapest market officially opens on the 17th November but they were testing the Christmas lights tonight, I'm looking forward to blipping them in the next few weeks.

The blip is of the Kürtöskalács or Kürtös cake, its a Hungarian specialty and gorgeous. It's really cool watching a ribbon of dough being wrapped around the well oiled hard wood cylinder they then roll it out, dipped in sugar and cook it over an open fire pit on a rotisserie. You can see the Kürtös changing colour, when it gets dark brown they'll role it in cinnamon, nuts or serve it plain anyway they're great hot.

Late blip today lots of work on, heading to Germany tomorrow evening for a few days so tomorrows blip will be from an airport or dodgy hotel room :-)
