Back to Baile-na-Cille (yet again)
Mr hazelh, Ridgeback13 and I have made it to Baile-na-Cille! It is wonderful to be here (as ever), and a real bonus to introduce Ridgeback13 to our favourite place in the whole wide world on such a beautiful sunny day.
There are two other guests at Baile-na-Cille this evening: walkingMarj, who has been holding on to the great weather for us since her arrival earlier in the week, and John from St Just, who we know from previous visits here.
An advantage of not travelling by tandem today is that we were able to pack in quite a lot of fun between the arriving by ferry at Stornoway at lunchtime and reaching Baile-na-Cille this afternoon. First we visited our favourite Harris Tweed shop in Stornoway (one of our purchases was for Mr hazelh – a Harris Tweed jacket the same blue as his eyes), then we headed west for cake for lunch at the Morven Gallery (Ridgeback13 bought a beautiful silver ring), and after that we visited the Carloway broch, as modelled by me and Mr hazelh in Ridgeback13's blip for today.
We have also enjoyed a couple of walks: one before dinner across Uig Sands (see the extra) for a paddle in the warm (by Scottish standards) sea; one after dinner to take this blip - and to discover the consequences of walking too close to a tern’s nest!
Exercise today: walking (13,579 steps)
