Where did that come from?

My tree peony is a beautiful bright pink.  It is close to the bottom of the garden and I noticed it this morning from the house, and wondered what the pale pink blooms around its stem were.  Could they be sort of self generated peonies gardening blippers?  The flowers are very pretty however they got there!  Garden is very weedy at the moment - need to get out there and pull a few up.  Maybe tomorrow...
