Time Up

Coillte (State Forestry Company) has moved into our area and begun to harvest their tree crop. Twenty years of Conifers is coming to an end, I wont miss the dark & barren undergrowth.

The negative side is the desolation after they have harvested. It will be a long time before they replant.

The positive side is the colourful old broadleaf woodland that runs parallel to Lough Rinn is now visible again and the amount of extra light flooding into the area.

And there is a fantastic aroma in the air.
