Respect

I spent much of the day with Matthew, Jessica, and their three children. They asked my help in writing up part of a project they’ve been working on for the past four years, having to do with the so-called “justice” system in the USA and the way it treats Black people in general and their family specifically.

I met Matt and Jessica at the vigil for Quanice “Moose” Hayes in February. Matthew grew up with Moose’s mother, Venus, and is a close friend of the family. 

In the photo with Matt and Jessica is their son Matthew; their twins, Christian and Tristan, aged 15 months, had fallen asleep by the time I made the photo.
