The first bridge between Oregon and Washington on what is now known as Interstate 5 was built in 1917 when the population was around 200,000 people.. In 1958 a second bridge was built when the population neared 400,000 and the highway now had a north and south span.
Today the population is over 600,000 and over 100,000 cars cross those bridges each day.. This picture was me looking out the window, parked on the highway while it was shut down for 45 minutes for emergency maintenance.. As the bridges get older.. more repairs and..
Thursday is going to be another nice and easy day parked on the highway.. along with rolling along occasionally..
