How do Polar bears have babies?

This was the question I was asked by a wee P3 today. I thought he meant how were they made. But then he qualified himself saying, "how can they have babies without doctors and nurses to help them?" It's comments like that remind me why I am a teacher. My next question was "can we please discuss the state of our world?" Eg global warming. The class are doing polar explorers. I had to reassure the little girl that the world was not going to melt into non existence in her life time. She was a little more reassured. And I was just covering the class!!!

I asked what the last person leaving the classroom should do. The answer I wanted was 'turn off the lights,' I got 'follow the child before!' Wonderful.
