Glittering Prizes

Glorious drive home from prizegiving at our children’s old secondary school. Felt uplifted by the happy and confident young people on the threshold of life’s great adventure. However could not help but think of one of my favourite poems by Liz Lochead, ‘The Choosing’,
‘....when the choices got made
we don’t remember making.’
So much of life is luck - a happy family, an inspirational teacher, health.
This cow seemed happy in the evening sunshine.
