Morning Jog
I went for a job this morning and got to see the most beautiful sunrise. I really have not written very much in the past few months. My health issues have left me feeling exhausted and rather uninspired. It was amazing to feel reinvigorated this morning after witnessing this beautiful sight :)
As Karabelle lay down for bed that night, she felt like sleep was far away. She lay there thinking until a brilliant idea popped into her head. She jumped out of bed and began gathering supplies: a handful of paintbrushes, a few colors of paint, some cotton balls, cotton candy (leftover from her treat that night), qtips, and a couple tubes of glitter glue.
Karabelle quietly unlocked the front door and crept outside. Supplies in hand, she quickly ran off towards the sky. There was so much work to do! Karabelle was going to create the most magnificent sunrise she’d ever seen, full of clouds and sunrays and brilliant colors.
She started by painting the sky light blue. It looked like the ocean and Karabelle liked that. Next, she took the cotton balls and started placing them one by one on her canvas. She pulled some apart until they became thinner, wispier. Others she left as they were, full and puffy. The cotton candy was next. She pulled a piece off and put it in her mouth, sugary and delicious. It was pink and purple, perfect for her sunrise creation. She pulled off clumps and bunched them together is various spots between the cotton balls. She continued on with her work of art, until all her supplies were almost gone.
As she placed the last q-tip on the sky, she took a step back to look over her work. Almost done. Karabelle grabbed the tubes of gold and silver glitter glue and began squirting long lines of it on the sky. It was coming out of the cotton ball clouds at an upward diagonal angle, creating the most brilliant rays of morning sun she had ever seen. “Now it’s done” she said to herself, marveling at her creation. Clouds were everywhere, colored in the most amazing purples, pinks, blues and yellows she could imagine. The sky canvas reached a point of perfection as the gold and silver glitter glue sun rays shined and dazzled the eye.
On her way back home, Karabelle glanced back at her creation and breathed a sigh of relief as she realized that she was now exhausted. She had left everything on the canvas, and the only thing left to do was crawl back in her bed and fall fast asleep.
