First day of our holiday to Valencia

This was our first ever visit to Valencia, which is a truly beautiful city.
The Torres de Serranos is one of only two gates that remain of the thousand year old walls that protected Valencia from marauding armies hoping to invade the city. The walls were built at the end of the 14th century and Torres de Serranos was considered to be the main entrance to Valencia through which the royal processions of visiting kings would enter the city.  Considering its age, the gate has survived in remarkable condition.
