Take it from me, Foxgloves are a lot less trouble than the sheep! (Yes, there's a story not for repeating!)
Late last night we got a nasty surprise when one of Jamie's tyres developed a large bulge. We quickly deflated it and were left feeling deflated ourselves, wondering what this meant for today's plans. Getting the faulty tyre repaired at the recently opened Tywyn cycle shop was a real result given that the nearest NHS Wheelchair Services base is two hours away in Wrexham.
This left us time to enjoy another seafront stroll/roll with fish and chips for lunch followed by a trip up the line. No 3, Sir Haydn, is named after the local MP who was indeed a local and who kept the line running until his death in 1950. It has recently returned to service after a lengthy lay off while funds were raised for a new boiler.
Evening sunshine now. Will the weather hold for tomorrow and the Anything Goes Gala which should be the Everything Goes Gala as all six steam locos and all four diesels will be out hauling trains, the day ending with a cavalcade of all locos together. As No 1, talyllyn, goes out of service for it's ten year boiler overhaul on Monday, this rare event will not be repeated for a long time. Come and join us?
