Hanging by and singing on the river
A delegation of my uni gang visited Cambridge today, which was long overdue, largely because I am a nightmare to pin down to a date, and because most of them are usually knee-deep in soiled nappies and children's medical emergencies.
We had a wonderfully relaxing time in the great sunny weather in Cambridge, eating burgers, drinking shandy and lounging on Jesus Green. Nearby the usual cluster of people were practising various circus skills: juggling, acrobatics and wire walking. We preferred to be prostrate and lazy, although we admired from afar.
I learnt that Trinity College hosts an free annual summer evening event called 'Singing on the River.' It started an hour before nightfall and was a beautiful hour of being by the river listening to incredible voices, with some goosebumps moments.
