A Day At A Time.

Fogbow

No, I'm not kidding. That's what this is called. A fogbow.

Or a white rainbow.

I have never seen one of these before. But it's been a really foggy day at the beach and this evening, as we were all taking an evening stroll along the beach track, we spotted this remarkable phenomenon.

The water particles in fog are much smaller than in rain and so the light, when double refracted through the droplets, does not tend to get split into its constituent colours.

So no rainbow. Juts an arc of bright white.

Hope your weekend is just as magical.
